Philippe Bedard, MD, FRCPC

Follow Dr. Bedard:
Dr. Bedard received his medical degree from the University of Toronto where he was awarded the Cody Academic Silver Medal. He completed his Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology specialty training at the University of Toronto. He received additional fellowship training in clinical and translational breast cancer research at the Breast International Group (BIG).
 
In recognition of his research excellence, Dr. Bedard received the 2012 Career Development Award from the the Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Dr. Bedard has a clinical practice and a research program. His clinical practice includes the treatment of patients with breast and testicular cancers. His research program involves early phase clinical trials with novel cancer drug treatments. These emerging treatments include immunotherapy and the personalization of cancer treatment based upon the results of testing for DNA mutations within tumor cells.
 
As a member of the Steering Committee for the AACR-GENIE project, Dr. Bedard is contributing to this international data-sharing initiative, which links cancer genomic data with clinical outcomes from tens of thousands of cancer patients treated at leading international institutions.
